Independent Project: Prospectus thoughts

For the last couple of days, I have continued to work on my Project Prospectus.

The first section I worked on was the target audience for my project. I thought this would be the same information as the persona, but after some research this ended up not being true. The main difference I found was that Target Audience was a lot more general and focused on a much wider set of people, rather than creating a profile for specific individuals.

I looked at examples of target audiences on the internet to give me a better idea of what exactly I needed to include. The main ways that these examples split up the information was into Demographics, and Psychographics.

Demographics was about simple metrics such as Age range, gender and race, and psychographics was about my target audience's mentality and lifestyle. I filled in my demographics pretty fast, but the psychographics took a bit longer to complete.

I also worked on developing an appropriate name and logo for my project, as this was a requirement which needed to be displayed on the front page. I usually have difficulty naming things, and I felt the same here. To help me, I looked on a website called Wordhippo for alternatives to words that related to my project such as 'gallery', 'virtual', etc.

After a lot of searching of similar terms, I settled on 'Viewable', as it generally suited my project's theme of looking at/viewing artwork. I'm not ruling out the possibility of making a better name later, but for now I am happy with what I have.

Another reason I chose the name was because it conjured some ideas in my head of a possible logo, which was to eyeballs into the loops of the 'e', as they already vaguely looked like eyes.
