Coming off the heels of my literature review last semester, I was very acquainted with the research process, reviewing sources and identifying key points. This made the experience of doing research for this assignment a lot more comfortable. I'm happy with the range of sources and information I found. I was given some more sources the Friday before submission, but with time permitting, I could only go through some of them.
If I need some more material later on in the project, at least I will have a good collection of sources to look at.
The basic idea of my project was developed at quite an early stage, which meant that I was able to keep building upon it throughout the following weeks.
The target audience and the personas were a little bit more difficult than the other areas, as I had to put a lot of thought into the kinds of people who would potentially access my product. I already wanted it to benefit immunocompromised people and those far away from city centres, but when considering people outside of this bubble, I had to put a lot of thought into the finer details.
With hindsight, I could have potentially put more information into my personas, but I'm happy with the information I did include.
I haven't used Gannt Charts very often in the past, but when Steve showed us the example, the layout was immediately very understandable. My first attempt at making one was quite simple, but following Steve's advice, I broke the tasks down further.
This was also my first time writing a risk assessment, so there was many aspects I was unsure about. However, once I had done the research and found some examples, the process became rather simple.
Collecting images for my mood boards was very enjoyable, as I found many inspiring images in very quick succession. The part that wasn't enjoyable however, was recording the links to the images whenever I put them into my board, and later turning all the links into full Harvard Referencing. Because there was so many sources to reference, this was a very time consuming process.
Designing the gallery in Blender was quite a challenge, as compared to when I used it for a project last year, I had to do a lot more modelling and editing of the parts to construct my scene. However, with the storyboard sketches as reference, I had at least had a clear vision of what I wanted to create. Despite the challenges, I really enjoyed the process and am eager to completing it in Unreal and implementing VR functionality.
