The main tasks I worked on during the weekend was completing the cultural context and background information, as well as changing the Gannt Chart to include more detailed stages of the production process.
I continued from where I had left off the other day by reading the remaining sources I hadn't looked through yet, and finished writing about the sources I only partly read through.
There were three sources in particular that I needed to add. One of them had some important information on the history of VR development, and listed quite a few of the advancements that had been made in the few decades since the Sensorama in 1962. This source also mentioned the Sensorama, but the listed year of its creation was 1956 instead, which was confusing at first. After some searching on the internet, I found that most places listed its creation year as 1962, so that's what I stuck with.
The other source was about virtual reality experiences and discussed the factors that should be considered to decide which experiences are ethical to create in VR.
The last source was about the applications VR had in modern life and the way VR technologies have been implemented into different industries.
After I finished adding the required information, I shifted my focus to the visuals of my prospectus, which I started by adding a header to my document. My next major change was to the colour scheme of my document, which I made orange to be more consistent to my project logo. I also changed the formatting of the main section titles and made a lot of small edits to the general formatting of the document.
In cultural context section of my prospectus, I added pictures to each of the VR games and media examples in my list. The process of referencing the pictures was unclear to me at first, but the examples Steve had shown us last week finally got added to Canvas gave me a better idea of how this should be done. The method I went with was adding a caption at the bottom of every picture saying which website they were from.
Just in case Steve ended up saying otherwise, I made sure to keep the links to the websites where I found my pictures.
