Adobe Animate [Session 2]

During this session, our main focus was on Interactivity. This was pretty basic, as the "GO!" button was the only interactive part of the document. The code required, which in this case was in HTML, was also fairly simple.

For the rest of the animation we used the same techniques we had learnt in last week's Adobe Animate Session.

We were allowed to give the bug whatever design we wanted, but I chose to draw this cartoony looking fly based off a similar looking fly drawing I made in college a few years back. I did not have the drawing with me at the time, so I just made it from memory.

With the background I tried to evoke the feeling that the fly is trapped in a glass case, with the only other thing occupying it being the button.

We also had the option to add sound effects. This was not required though, so I decided not to include them, at least for now.

Here is the final html output file, in which you can see me using the interactive button to make the fly move across the screen:

Although what I did wasn't all that creative, I'm happy with what I did make. While working on the animation, I did go back and adjust/add to the fly's design a few times, which probably lost me a bit of time. The button though I didn't have this problem with and I created a result I was happy with very quickly. I especially like how I made the button retract and dim slightly upon being pushed.
