The song I want to use for my video is Too Much, by Lubalin, as its a good length and it has some parts that I could possibly do some interesting things with. I also already have a few different ideas in mind. The ones I know I want to do for sure are use existing/found footage, include some sort of typography and have some abstract animated elements mixed in there. Other potential ideas include putting focus on colour and maybe using rotoscoping for some of the animation.

Making

Using the archive website started off a bit daunting, as there was a lot of content I had to search through to find what I wanted.

The process of making my video wasn't exactly in order. I instead started from near the end of the song, as it had a section I already had a vision for.

To cut down my workload slightly, I cut out the second chorus, as there was practically no difference compared to the first one.

My idea to use drone footage and car journey footage, was motivated by the song slow tempo and relaxed atmosphere. It was in the final section of the song where I decided to make things more intense, to match the increased tempo and harsher beats.

A lot of the footage I used was provided by my Dad, who has a media business, and therefore had a portfolio of footage which I was given full permission to use. The rest of the footage was gathered from Archive.com.
