Adobe Dreamweaver

Today we practiced creating simple web layouts using html and css code.

We specifically created two different webpages for this exercise. The first one we made was dedicated to an artist/creative figure, of choice very simple and elementary in nature and helped us learn the basics.

The only thing I really took a while to figure out was the artist I wanted to base the site off of as well and choosing the pictures I wanted. Everything else in that exercise I found very simple.

This is basically the result of what I did:

It was in the second exercise where things really ramped up, as the layout we were creating was a lot more complex and required way more code. Also, whereas in the first exercise only required us to work with html code, creating this layout required us to have a css document linked with it. This added yet another layer of complexity to the process.

I generally found this second website layout quite difficult, and there were various points throughout where the code seemed to be correct but the website wasn't working the way it was supposed to, which I found quite frustrating. I also had a few issues with linking images, as for some reason there were particular images that refused to link with my document for reasons I wasn't sure of.

I did try following the guide at the same pace as the tutor, but there were various points in the session where I'd get stuck on something and fall behind, and eventually I just gave up trying and started to just go through guide at a pace I was more comfortable with.

This is what it looked like by the end of the day:

This is what the html code looks like.

And this is how the css code is laid out
